SAHARA: The Deserted Desert
In mid-June, we trekked the dune,
A desert quest, away from home.
One bottle clenched, we vowed to brave,
Follow each other, even share a grave.
But the storm that came,
Is that a camel or a dame?
My sight blurred or was it heightened?
A mirage teased—a well in sight.
I blinked, wiped off my fright,
You drained the bottle, every drop.
My gasp didn’t make you stop,
My mind's an alarm, buzzing loud.
Storms rage inside, emotions unbound,
The desert's test, a harsh reveal,
The truth was sealed,
You left me stranded, but you’re the one enraged.
Tell me I’m deranged, narratives rearranged,
In the shifting sands, our paths diverged.
