He keeps me up on my toes,
a dizzying high.
We admired the skyscraper's view,
touching the city's sky.

I'm scared of heights, overcome it, come to me he said. When I told him no, it was as if he wanted me dead.
I can't lie, I felt my world tremble, my spine in shambles.
He says I'm his light. Why leave him in the dark of night?
I'll repent, make him forget. I won't ever fret. I'll even beg and beg. I'll cover myself in red, bury myself in dread.
As he said we're meant to be. My high and low, no in between. He's my favorite song on repeat. There's no such thing as defeat.
